Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
An official for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.
The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
Television and Literature
He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
