Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded this past week, and with a remarkable performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. This breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the esteemed Top Game award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Adding to the studio's triumph, the gifted performers also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English received Top Lead Actor for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its developers achieved 7 awards during the event.
Additional major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the public, with only four awards—Critics Choice, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers’ Choice—determined by experts.
